That's why buying zone free DVD is now a priority with many of us intending to buy a DVD player. If you fit into this category, you'll probably be asking if there are any drawbacks to owning a zone free DVD player. Aside from having to change the zone you want to use from your unit's remote, you should take into consideration the following.
Zone Free In Zone One
If you're living in zone one (the USA) almost all new DVD players will soon be fitted with something called Regional Code Enhancing. A word of warning. If you're tempted to try and remove the zoning function of your DVD player, be aware that you might damage your unit, and that you will be invalidating any guarantee that might be in place. If you want to alter a unit you already have, make sure you seek the advice of experts in your attempts to achieve zone free DVD.
